 Having problems with your vehicle, and you suspect the fuel system. That’s fair, but remember, it could also be the ignition system, or the engine itself. Here are a few checks, this list is by no means complete.
Make sure you have sparks at the spark plugs.
Ignition system troubles end here, but can go all the way back to the key.
Make sure the timing belt(s) or chain are connected.
These keep the top and bottom of engines in time.
Inspect engine for compression leaks - no gaping holes in hoses, fittings, o-rings, sensors and other connections. Compression is required for ignition, and holes don’t help.
If you have confirmed these items, and you have replaced the fuel filter, AND the vehicle still won’t start, perform the
basic fuel injector test
or the 6 fuel pump tests.
